ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTING

Q: What are my different paper choices and which one should I use for RC photographic papers?

A: We offer three different RC paper choices. We use Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper. RC papers are all medium weight.

(1) Glossy : high gloss surface

  • Used primarily for press release photos or prints being copied. Gives the appearance of being sharper.

  • Shows fingerprints
(2) Pearl : semi gloss - light sheen surface
  • This is a wonderful all around paper that works well for portrait prints, art prints for display, or portfolio prints.

  • Does not show fingerprints
(3) Matte : flat matte surface
  • This paper works well for retouching or hand coloring. The paper has a slight tooth to it and works with marshal oils and pencils.

  • Economical alternative to Fiber Base prints for hand coloring

  • Does not show fingerprints
